COURSE SELECTION
Courses are offered at the University of Dar-es-Salaam (UDES). Students in the Medicine, Health & Biomedical Science concentration will also take clinical courses at the Muhimbili University College of Health Sciences (MUCH). Program participants are integrated with Tanzanian students. Courses are taught in English.

Most courses at UDES and MUCHS are awarded 3 semester credits. Science and clinical courses with a lab are 4 credits.

Students can enroll in courses offered by various faculties (colleges and schools) and departments at UDES. Academic subjects offered by each faculty are listed below. Click on the faculty or department name to download a PDF file with the course offerings. These PDF files were adapted from the curriculum prospectus from each faculty. Students should only focus on courses offered and disregard all other information.

Contact KEI for course descriptions and syllabi. Please be patient as it may take 2 to 6 weeks to obtain course descriptions (and syllabi when available). UDES does not have a digitized system for course information, so much of the work must be done manually and through direct contact with each professor at UDES.

Internships may be combined with courses during the semester and summer programs. Internship placement depends on student interests. Possibilities include humanitarian organizations, hospitals and clinics, domestic and multinational companies, research laboratories and/or field study, and non-government organizations. Internships are awarded 3 to 6 credits, depending on duration.
