RUSSIA: Moscow

Moscow is the heart of Russia, its political capital and center of commerce, religion, science education and culture. Ten million people call Moscow home.

THE UNIVERSITY
Moscow State University (MSU), founded in 1755 has a long standing tradition of academic excellence. It is the top scientific and educational institution within Russia and one of the leading universities in the world. MSU has a history of distinguished faculty and researchers, including Nobel and Fields Medal Laureates.

  • A non-refundable application fee must be included with the application.

Program Costs

Fall Semester: $9,950
Spring Semester: $9,950
Summer Session: $5,995

The program price includes tuition and academic fees at the host university abroad, housing, comprehensive medical and travel insurance, predeparture guides and advising, Onsite Director and support, airport welcome, program orientation, cultural excursions and use of a mobile telephone. Students must factor in additional costs such as college fees, airfare, visa, personal expenses, etc. A program budget with estimated total costs is available at the Clark Center for International Education at SUNY Cortland.

  • Moscow City Tour
  • Russian Ballet or Circus
  • Vladimir
  • Suzdal
  • St Petersburg and Peterhof (extended overnight)
Course Information SEMESTER OPTIONS:
  • 15 credits per semester
  • Russian Studies Seminar is required
  • Russian Language is required*
  • Students select additional courses from the following academic disciplines:
    • Russian Business, Law and Diplomacy
    • Russian Culture & Regional Studies

SUMMER OPTIONS:
  • 6 credits
  • Russian Studies Seminar is required
  • Russian Language is required*

* Russian language may be waived for students who take all courses taught in Russian.

Accommodations Students live in university dormitories on campus with easy access to public transportation. Bedrooms are either single or double occupancy with a shared bathroom. Rooms are furnished.
Program Notes This program is a cooperative effort between SUNY Albany, SUNY Cortland and the Knowledge Exchange Institute (KEI). KEI provides logistical and student services, including predeparture guides and advising, on-site support (airport welcome, orientation, supervision, etc.), pre-registration for courses at the host university, housing arrangements, cultural excursions, medical and travel insurance, and mobile telephone. SUNY students applying for the Semester or Academic Year program must follow the SUNY Albany application process. SUNY students applying for the Summer program must follow the SUNY Cortland application process. All fees, including application fee and program fee, must be paid to SUNY Albany or SUNY Cortland, depending on term of study.
